In this uncertain world I feel very privileged to be able to live a life that is so happy and fulfilling - with time and opportunity to explore all the things I have dreamed of over the years. After several years on my own I realise that it would be lovely to have a special person with me to explore these things in addition to my lovely family and friends. I would love to see more of Europe and places that ideally can be reached by train, but definitely not by a long-haul flight. I love theatre and concerts (classical, folk and some pop and rock) and also walking and talking - both great hobbies of mine! ..

Occupation:

I have been a teacher and am now more or less retired. In latter years I have taught piano which has given me enormous pleasure and many friends.

Education:

History undergraduate, and post graduate degrees including piano teacher's qualification which has been very useful of late!

Heritage:

I come from a family which set enormous store by education - and that has permeated throughout my life. I remain intellectually and ethically broadminded and wish dearly that the world could be a great big melting pot.

I do not adhere to any specific religion. However I was brought up as a Christian and like to think that I live by the multi-religious principles of kindness and tolerance.

I guess centre-left. in the past I was probably lefter, but have become more cautious as I have aged.

In my more confident moods I would describe myself as elegant, stylish and pretty cool! I'm tall and slim with very short natural white/grey hair - think Fiona Shaw/ Annie Lennox (!!)
